Surrey County Council and the 11 district and borough councils have come together to communicate plans for devolution and local government reorganisation, including preparing residents for elections.

Surrey councils make progress with Local Government Reorganisation transition
Two Joint Committees have been set up to support Surrey’s move towards two new councils. These committees are short‑term arrangements and will operate until the local elections on 7 May 2026.
